Predjudices Based off Appearance
Appearance vs. Reality
It is believed that no two humans on earth are created to be the same as another person. Whether it's their personality or appearance no two people are alike. Do to the fact that no one is identical to another, us humans are forced to group each other into types that we find to be suiting. Daniel Webster once said, "The world is governed more by appearance than realities so that it is fully as necessary to seem to know something as to know it." Our own minds have taken over and controlled the way we view a certain group based off the way they look or act rather then the reality of how good of a person they might. For example, a typical white working male in his mid 40's is given more respect than a black working man in his 40's just for his skin color. The world is still quick to judge a person based off whether or not their skin is light or dark. Light or dark skin has been the result of countless debates over how to a person from their skin color, which is a crazy thought. The color of a mans skin should not be the defining factor of his worth. But us as humans have caused this insanity of judgement and exclusion based upon the certain way someone looks. This leads us to wonder how all these prejudices against appearance came to be and why do we judge everything so harshly based off of appearance.
"Hypocrisy: prejudice with a halo." -Ambrose Bierce
